‘Strange Darling’ Distributor Sues Over Box Office Underperformance

• Magenta Light Productions, the distributor, claims Spellbinder failed to contribute its $1M share of the $2M marketing budget, and instead used bot accounts to create the illusion of a successful campaign.
• The lawsuit also alleges that Spellbinder and its affiliate Myosin, whose ownership is 'identical', commingled funds and operated as a 'single entity' to evade liability for the film's underperformance.
