Academy Extends Oscars Voting, Changes Date of Nominations in Response to L.A. Wildfires

• The Academy has pushed back the announcement of Oscar nominations by 2 days, from Friday, Jan. 17 to Sunday, Jan. 19, to give voters more time to cast their ballots amidst the ongoing LA wildfires.
• In addition to the date change, the Academy has extended the nomination voting period, allowing Academy members an extra few days to finalize their choices for the 2025 Oscars.
